This new elementary school is a refinement of the district’s current elementary prototype and is being adapted to fit into a master-planned community. A priority for this campus is to further reduce energy consumption and off-set 50% of the remaining usage with solar arrays. In addition to re-evaluating safety and security measures related to emergency procedures for egress, lockdown, shelter-in-place, and access control, the district will be taking a proactive step toward controlling infectious aerosols. Some strategies they are planning to incorporate include improving ventilation, updating standard filtration, and embedding thermal imaging systems.
