I’m from College Station, TX, and while I didn’t always know I’d end up in education, it was all around me—my mom ran a kindergarten out of our home, my sisters were teachers, and my dad and grandfather worked at Texas A&M. All of this, one way or another, pointed me in the direction of education and public service.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. Each role was different, but what never changed was how much I enjoyed working with students, educators, and school communities. Helping support the work of schools was, and still is, something I find incredibly rewarding.
These days, I enjoy traveling, playing golf with my wife, and reading fiction.
