ACC Bioscience Incubator
Austin Community College
Austin Community College (ACC) has transformed the former Highland Shopping Mall into a vibrant campus for higher education. As part of Phase II of this transformation, the scope of this project is the conversion of three former retail tenant spaces into new laboratory space for ACC’s rigorous and well-recognized Biotechnology program. The complex includes laboratories, linear equipment and instrumentation rooms, classrooms, offices, student collaborative areas, bio-containment room, and support facilities. Elaborate environmental controls are required due to the extensive, highly specialized equipment and instrumentation. Some of the lab spaces have been leased to pharmaceutical / research companies, allowing students to acquire real world experience while generating incoming for the District.
