For Texas-based Pfluger Architects, a leader in educational facility planning and design, 2023 was a year of record growth and market expansion. In the past year, Pfluger welcomed 38 new team members and elevated nine individuals to senior-level positions.
Since its leadership shift in 2020, Pfluger has embraced several new initiatives. “Inspire people to create a more meaningful human experience,” Pfluger’s purpose statement was unveiled after being developed by the leadership team in 2020. The statement is a clear extension of the firm’s original core values of selflessness, accountability, and creativity and came as a result of the entire firm reading Simon Sinek’s Start with Why.
Following the development of the firm’s why, its natural implementation began as the firm fostered a culture of continuous learning and design innovation. To help develop this shift if of focus, Pfluger expanded its research and benchmarking to focus on areas like health and safety, fine arts, the psychology of design, immersive learning, career and technical education (CTE), sustainability, and campus life. The work of these teams has been pivotal in shaping engaging and innovative learning environments for clients across the state.
Since 2020, the synergies developed through these initiatives have helped the firm reach a 240% increase in revenue and the expansion of Pfluger’s influence in various sectors across the state.
Terry Hoyle, CEO of Pfluger, reflects on this growth: “At Pfluger, we’ve defined our purpose as inspiring people to create a more meaningful human experience. We are putting that into practice by building a culture of learning and design innovation. We’re excited to welcome new team members who share this commitment. Their expertise will be invaluable to the communities we serve.”
In the past year, Pfluger has made several strategic hires to enhance our ability to serve our clients. Recent notable additions to the Pfluger team include:
With 114 employees across five Texas locations, Pfluger anticipates further expansion in 2024.
