Pfluger celebrates that Connie G. Rivera, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP, managing principal in the firm’s Corpus Christi office, has been elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. One of the profession’s highest honors, Fellowship recognizes architects who have made a lasting impact on the profession and society at a national level.
Rivera was elevated under Object 3: Led the Institute, honoring sustained leadership within the AIA at the local, state, and national levels.
As executive director of AIA Corpus Christi, she transformed the chapter into a staffed, financially stable, and community-facing organization and took that experience to develop standards for chapters nationwide.
As president of the Texas Society of Architects in 2020, she steered the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic — moving operations virtual and coordinating resources for firms across the state.
Following Hurricane Harvey, she helped mobilize architects for safety assessments and recovery along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Rivera joined Pfluger in 2023. She will be formally recognized at the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design.
