I’m from Alvin, TX, and while I initially thought I’d follow in my dad’s footsteps into construction or sales, I ended up switching my major to education—and never looked back. I spent my career in public schools and eventually earned a PhD in Educational Administration, where I focused my research on how school facilities impact student outcomes and staff retention. That work continues to influence what I do today as part of the Pfluger team, helping districts plan for the future through bond planning and community engagement.
What motivates me most is helping communities invest in students—especially those who might not always have a voice. I believe in the power of public schools to shape successful, memorable experiences, and I’m proud to keep supporting them in this role.
Outside of work, my wife and I recently became grandparents, which has been the greatest joy. We also stay involved in our church, helping to provide resources to the unsheltered population in Galveston, and we love to golf, cook, and barbecue when we get the chance.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting their career?
Be authentic! Don’t be someone or something you are not just to gain the favor of others.
